SCAD Fluxathon First Place Winner
Fluxathon is a yearly 24-hour challenge organized by FLUX at Savannah College of Art and Design. Each year, a theme is given to challenge the designers to find a solution to a contemporary problem in 24 hours. This year, the theme was connecting the community.
Our team consisted of three people, Angela Martin (Research Lead) , Megan Calvin (Design Lead) and I. I was the Brand Lead of the team and created the vision video for our mobile app, bridge. I also worked on market research and pushed for the mobile app to educate rather than collating statistics of the public's opinion on issues as with other applications on the market. Our mobile application aims to connect people of differing opinions to learn both sides of each issue, taking politics out of the tense political scene. In 24 hours, we worked together through ideation, survey (with 101 responses!), low-fi wireframes to a prototype presented at the end of the challenge.
What I learned
It was my first time working on a User Experience Design Project and it was an eye-opening experience. It made me realize what we can do in the span of 24 hours and it helped me find the joy of designing for people with a purpose.
